Equipment

  • large skillet

Ingredients

  • ½-1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 2 lbs ground beef 80-85% lean
  • 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt or to taste
  • 1 ½ teaspoons black pepper or to taste
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic or to taste
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried parsley or to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone, American, cheddar, your preference
  • 4 hoagie rolls sub rolls we use amoroso rolls

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with avocado oil.
  • Add the ground beef to the hot skillet and season with the seasonings. Break the meat up with a meat masher and cook until fully browned. Do not drain the fat, let it cook into the meat.
  • Reduce the heat and add the shredded cheese, stirring until fully melted and mixed into the ground beef.
  • Spoon the cheesy beef mixture evenly into the 4 long rolls.
  • Serve as desired. Enjoy with banana peppers if you like.

Notes

You can make the ground beef ahead of time and then reheat the meat and melt in the cheese before serving. If you want to reduce the greasiness, drain a little fat before adding the cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
